Almost everyday I freak out about school/work/life. I'm wondering what if after all this, I have the MA after my name and on my resume and I still can't find a job. I'll be 80,000 in debt and unemployed. I'd like to think that it is very unlikely, but I still can't help thinking about it.
So yeah I found this:
KNOW WHAT EMPLOYERS WANT
So what are employers in international education looking for anyway? A standard list may include:
• Master’s degree in a related field
• Cultural sensitivity and awareness
• Previous experience living/working/studying abroad
• Strong organizational skills and administrative skills
• Excellent oral/written communication skills
• Second language capability
• Ability to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
• Working knowledge of federal immigration regulations
• Ability to travel
So I'm working towards getting all these qualifications. So its all good right? I really wanted to volunteer/intern abroad this summer, but the programs are so expensive. And since I have to live near DC, I pay my soul monthly in rent. If I didn't have to pay that much I would probably have some loan money left over to go. Sigh::
I am a dumbass. If I didn't suck at life, I would have signed up to volunteer at the World Expo in Shanghai. I'd be moving to China for the summer.
I really should be focusing on the now. Which is not failing this semester and graduating on time.
