DECEPTION, DISGRACE!

is my degree useless? i think i need to go to grad school. sometimes i think i may have made a mistake going to smc. but i didn't know what i wanted to do. i have many interests, but had no idea howto focus them into having some ideas about a career. when i did start to figure it out it was way too late and transferring to another school would probably have kept me there for another 2 years. the thing i wish the most, is that we had a better career services or some kind a seminar program that would help us see all the options we had with what we were studying and what we could actually do with it. i feel like i will spend the next year wandering kinda almost aimlessly until i figure shit out.

What am i doing now? Applying for a language program in Taiwan. Hoping to god i get in. I will then be there from sept-dec at least depending how i like the program. i will tutor to make extra money, and find if there's any actual possibility of me finding a job thats not teaching english. ha! im starting to study chinese again, using my books, various bootlegs, and rosetta stone. its so hard without someone to talk to.
hmm if i don't get in? i will be begging to get my old job at the world bank. studying for the fraking GRE and enrolling my ass into graduate school. im thinking international affairs and east asian studies...

most of all i wish i was more decisive.

Stef, relax it's ok. You'll figure out what you want to do soon. Even if it takes a year - you'll be happy in the end... if you take your time to figure out what you want to do you'll be ok. Honestly the best way to do that in my opinion is to just try different things career wise. Whatever kind of things you can get into try it. How do you know you'll like/dislike it until you try it?

In addition you could do some soul searching, and you'll find what you're looking for.

There's tons of resources out there just start searching.

Grad school is definitely an option. Especially if you can find a company to pay for it :).
