aeon is the devil...even if it does have the same name as FFX summons....I wouldnt recommend it. If you're looking at ALT in japan JET is the absolute best, but I think Interac or Joytalk are decent as well (personal plugging there).
But honestly I think the language school is a good idea. You can always do that and tutor. Or just come to Japan on a tourist visa and work...all the cool kids are doing it.

So there's this company called AEON, they hire people to teach English in Japan -- They do it year round, get on it.
