Decision Made

Today I made a decision. Usually I am sooo indecisive its ridiculous. Much after much thinking and discussion I have decided to move on. So yeah when school is over I am leaving my ultimate soul love of Taiwan. Well mainly because I have big plans to travel asia and working here would not be so condusive to me being able to visit all the countries i want to (there are alot). So In March I'll be leaving Taiwan, making a quick stop in Hong Kong and then heading home. After spending a lil bit of time at home the plan is to find a job in Seoul and move there. This really is the best way for me to get my travelling done and finishing visiting/living in my east asia pop-culture soul countries.

I think the only thing I love more than Taiwan is travelling. So yeah gotta do what I gotta do. But I will be back, and I can say that 100% certainty.

thing are coming full-circle: things i thought about today

So I feel my allotted time in Taiwan is coming to a close. I have been seriously considering working as a teacher here, but the more I research the more I get more turned off by the idea. The system isn't standardized, there are so many things that are illegal, like teaching kindergarten. You know if i'm doing a job i want to do it right, or at least have the opportunity to do it right. This means I want training or a support system. Having your own curriculum isn't really enough, I don't think so anyway. while the illegality of somethings isn't really a big deal because 'everyone does it' and everyone knows about it, im not that comfortable with it honestly. I hear stories of ppl not getting paid on time or getting fined if they break their contract early etc. I want a job with the security that i would never be put in that kind of situation. I really didn't expect to love taiwan this much, which is why i have been really considering trying to teach, despite the sketchy-ness of it all.

Today I've been thinking alot about what I want to do in life etc. I still don't know. But I really would like to travel and give myself some time to fun around before i go home and start my 'real' life. I'd like to give myself until 23/24 then go home. I want to travel around asia and that requires money. this has started me thinking about korea again. the idea of me only paying utilities and my own personal expenses and still take home a size-able chunk of money is really really intriguing. so yes, im back full circle, thinking what i thought back in aug/sept. Basically that after studying in taiwan i would go work in korea. so yes this is what has been on my mind today. who knows, it could all change in an hour.
